ONE OF A KIND BENGAL MUGA SILK SAREE
Muga is one of the rarest silks in the world. It is said that the silkworms of Muga have been in existence since prehistoric times. The silkworms are very delicate and cannot withstand the minimum pollution levels, thus making it very rare. The silk fibre is a very strong organic natural fibre and is derived from semi cultivated silkworms named Antheraea assamensis. One of the most significant properties of the fabric is its longevity as it has been seen time and again to outlive the wearer thus making it an heirloom piece for every owner.
It is woven in our exclusive quintessential Jamdani design using hand operated looms. The warp (length) and weft (width) are interlaced and woven on a loom operated by weavers. Our exclusive design makes it versatile, unique and one of the most popular choices, especially for the celebrations. It took 6 month’s time to weave and process a saree before putting it on frame.
This saree being ONE OF A KIND MUGA SILK SAREE of West Bengal brings not just a handloom saree but a piece of art-form to your wardrobes.
