Handwoven Bengal Tant Saree (Tangail Saree)

The Tangail cotton is a type of fabric that is woven using hand operated looms. The warp (length) and weft (width) are interlaced and woven on a mechanised loom operated by weavers. These tangail looms do not use electricity. It takes a week's time to weave and process a saree before putting it on frame.

Tangail saree in pure cotton owe their popularity to the hot weather to provide comfort to the wearer by virtue of its their lightweight nature, making it handy for every occasion !
